We awoke at 7:15 a.m. And enjoyed yet another continental breakfast on yet another motel deck. Then we headed out for our ride to Bar Harbor. Along the way we saw more cows, rode up and down some more hills, and arrived in Bar Harbor in about two and a half hours. We briefly entered Acadia National Park -- enough to get a view of Frenchman's Bay and a couple of ginormous cruise ships.

We continued into town and rattled the door of the hostel where we were intending stay. They wouldn't be available until 5, so we said goodbye to our $7 deposits and booked a room at the Villager Motel Annex (It had a pool! It was too cold to swim in it!) Then we set out for lunch and discovered the town had been overrun by zombies. Just kidding – they were actually just cruise ship people. We grabbed some sandwiches to go and ate on the grass overlooking the harbor.

After a mid-afternoon coffee at the Opera House Cafe, we walked to National Park Sea Kayak for a sunset tour. On the kayak trip (led by Ted), Jordan utilized his superior steering skills while AM took the captain's seat up front. Just a short time into the tour, we saw a pair of porpoises. Then we saw a few more pairs of porpoises all around us. After some more paddling, we saw osprey and a mama loon with a baby loon. We took a short break on a beach on a deserted island and then paddled into seal harbor, where we saw a few adorable harbor seal heads and a beautiful sunset. After a van ride back to the kayak shop, we headed back to the hotel to warm our feet and change for dinner. We ate at Rupununi (hanger steak, crab cakes, and blueberry ale) and then called it a night.
